Acne is a common problem for all though it’s a very predominant problem for teenagers. If you’re one of lucky people (just kidding) affected, you don’t need to fret there are numerous home remedies for acne. Opting to do a home remedy for acne is better since there known few side effects and much cheaper compared to visiting a dermatologist. You may need to visit a dermatologist though if none of the remedies work or if you have a severe acne problem.

What is acne and what’s the cause of it?

Acne or Acne vulgaris (medical term) is skin disorder that is characterized by characterized (pimples) comedones (blackheads and whiteheads), nodules (large nodules) seborrhea (scaly red skin) and maybe even possible scarring.  Acne commonly occurs in areas where the population of sebaceous follicles are greater, these areas includes but not limited to the face, the back and the upper part of the chest.

There are various causes of acne can be hereditary, hormonal, your diet, psychological and clogged pores can result in developing acne. If your family has it, the greater chances of you having it. As for hormones (like testosterones) that increases during puberty which why 90% of teenager experiences it. Diet and psychological (stress) has been associated in developing acne but cannot be singled out as the primary cause of it. Diet, as being a contributable factor in developing acnes as not been proven but there’s no harm in eating balance meal, it will be healthier for you as well.

Prevention is always going to better than cure

Now you know what causes acne, you can avoid it though we cannot avoid hormonal and hereditary causes. Avoid getting stressed out by having sufficient sleep and rest. Use mild cleanser, change your bed linens regularly, avoiding touching your face with your dirty hands and don’t squeeze your pimples this would lead to scarring.  For women, avoid oil based make up and be sure to remove your makeup before going to bed.

Some Home remedies for curing acne

As a caution, check for allergies before trying out the home remedies for curing acne. You can test for sensitivity by applying a little amount at the back of your hand and waiting at least 30 minutes watch out for any redness or itching (the longer the better).

For some people, one remedy is enough to cure and prevent acne while others will need to combine home remedies for curing acne. Try the remedy one at a time and find which would be effective for you. Stop the remedy at once for any signs of irritation, sensitivity and if your acne is getting worse.

Drink at least 8 classes of water. It’s the easiest home remedy for acne that you can do. Drinking sufficient water would ensure the toxins in your body. Toxins no being properly eliminated can cause all sorts of problems and can contribute to developing acne.

Three doses of garlic keep acne away. Eat at least three crushed cloves of garlic daily (adding it in meals will be easier though some testimonials said that raw garlic is more effective). What I do is add honey to the garlic, it would lessen the horrible taste and honey is good for you too. Some people rub garlic on the affected area but I personally don’t recommend it since it would hurt and can cause burning. Garlic is known for its antibacterial and said to purify the blood.

Apply Tomato paste on skin. Use fresh tomato, you can manually crush it or use a blender. Apply the tomato paste and leave for an hour then wash. Tomato can help with the inflammation, has good moisturizing abilities, rich in antioxidants and can absorb oils.

Dab Lemons juice on your face using cotton. You can use lime as an alternative make sure you use the sour ones. It’s more effective if you leave it overnight. Doing this will help dry up pimples and lighten scars.

Egg mask for your face. You just need to beat one whole egg (you can add a little hazel, honey or lemon), then apply to your face. Leave it for at least 30 minutes, some people leave it overnight. The egg mask can help getting rid of blackheads, excess oil, dries up pimple and moistures.

Use Aloe Vera topically or internally. You can apply it directly to your skin or take capsules. Applying it to your skin will soothe, reduce inflammation and has antibacterial properties as well. Taking the Aloe Vera Capsule can help in detoxifying the body which would help in clearing up the skin.

Those are just a few of the home remedies for curing acne. There still a lot of home remedies you can try and before you do make sure to read and find feedback. If still nothing works for you and your acnes is just getting worst, it best to seek professional help.
