Where to buy Contemporary Office Desk

My friends and I are setting up a small business this year. We’re opening an events agency to handle weddings and birthday parties. My friend’s mom is renting a newly built condo-type apartment with a two-floor commercial space and offered us to use the second level as our office.

Of course, with the new office, we have to load it up with office furniture and equipments. One of the important things we have to buy is a contemporary office desk. We’re looking at cheap office desks to fit our budget and match our style. We want our office to be presentable to our prospective clients so they wouldn’t think of our business as a fly-by-night kind of office.

I visited HMR Office Warehouse near our place where they sell second hand office furniture and equipments. The prices are within our budget; however, the office desks they’re selling are the usual office desks, which is not really that modern and stylish. We then looked at contemporary office desks available at the malls. There are a couple of great looking tables with wenge finish. It’s actually made out of particle board covered with PVC sticker and is manufactured in China. Since we’re looking for cheap office desks, this China-made furniture fits our budget and has a contemporary look, but with the material used, I don’t think it’s a good buy because of its durability. Particle boards usually expand when soaked with water and termites loves to reside on this kind of material.

Our last option was to go to the area where several warehouse of office furniture manufacturers are located. It’s a long drive but it was worth all the effort. When we got there, it was like a shopping mall of fine hand-made furniture. There are a lot of contemporary office desks to choose from and not only cheap office desks, but other furniture we would need to dress up our office.

If you plan to buy a contemporary office desk, I suggest you buy it directly from the manufacturers instead of buying it from malls or buying second hand material. Remember buying furniture is like an investment, would you want to invest on cheap yet non-durable equipment? I guess not. Look for a cheap office desk that is worth spending on. Remember, every penny counts.
